Look beneath the surface

We spend a lot of time focusing on our surface. We try hard to stay clean, well groomed, and stylish. We pay attention to all of the cosmetic details and get frustrated on days when nothing seems to fit or look right on our bodies. Feeling desperate, we starve ourselves, resort to pills, plastic surgery, or whatever quick/easy fix we can find and afford. We look at temporary solutions. When we pay attention to our bodies as a whole, good things happen. We improve our mood, have more energy, confidence, and even reverse or improve health issues. It's a process and a lifestyle that needs daily attention. Today I encourage you to look beneath the surface and look for ways you can make changes and improve your choices. Make time for exercise and focus more on portion control and healthy choices as a new normal for yourself. Start by giving up the bad habits that you can live without. Don't jump in with both feet and overwhelm yourself with drastic changes. Little by little you can make changes beneath your surface.

  1. So true. And I've also learned that you can't just go on a "diet" or a 30 day "workout program" and then expect your whole life to change because of it. It literally has to be a LIFESTYLE change, or it'll never work. You'll just go on diet after diet after diet and be depressed that nothing seems to be changing. Like you said, if you take baby steps and slowly make changes to your eating habits, workout habits etc. it'll be easier to "stick with" and you'll see better and more results. It's easier to give up when you are doing it the wrong way. I'm learning that there are a lot of reasons why I want to get "fit". Not only so I can look HOT in a 2 piece, but because I want to be healthy, energetic, and happy. I noticed that when I do take the time to do a workout, whether it's walking, jogging, or a video, I always feel so good afterwards. I still have a ways to go, and it's hard since I'm pregnant and crave weird things all of the time and everything that I'm NOT craving makes me want to get sick, lol. But there will for SURE be a permanent change taking place once she is here. And even now, I have tried realllly hard to eat more veggies and fruits and drink lots of water and such.

  2. Hmmm...good thoughts. Making me think of my 'bad habits' and trying to find ONE to start working on...
